Wanted miko For A Small Family hokora
Having firmly grasped the tiger by the tail, we really don't want to leave the Twin Cities at the mercy of the shi-yaku-jin.
Frankly, we're an old codger. And while we're still relatively healthy, we need to start thinking about a successor.
Recently, we've had a couple of major medical emergencies that severely limited our ability to perform the hokora rituals.
And while we currently have a helper, they're almost as old as we are. We're not sure how long they'll be able to continue helping.
So in the interests of keeping the kami entertained and relatively calmed, we're seeking a gullible young thing to help as a miko and eventually take over the hokora as the kannushi.
Now when we say miko, we really don't care what gender they present as, or their oirientation is, as long as they are willing to serve our kami. The kami being rather ambiguous themselves aren't particularly bothered by the matter.
miko duties largely consist of helping perform offerings every Sunday (2 hours), and helping to clean the hokora once a month (1 hour).
We also table at the Twin Cities Pagan Pride Fall Festival every year the first Saturday after Labor Day from 10:00 am - 6:00 pm at Minnehaha Falls Park. A day long event, it requires, set-up, tear-down and help staffing the booth.
There is a small stipend, but to be honest, it's nothing you could expect to live on.
